vulnerabilities to gender-based violence
Vulnerabilities to gender-based violence
Gender-Based Violence occurs across all socio-demographics (e.g., Race, Class, Gender, etc.).
However, women from marginalized groups experience an increased risk and vulnerability to gender-based violence as they are given less power, and less opportunities within society.
High Risk-Increased Vulnerability
- Newcomers and immigrant women
- Visible minority and aboriginal women
- Rural women
- Pregnant women
- Women with disabilities
- Older women
- Women who are homeless
- Women with addictions
- Women with mental health issues
The following are suggestions NOT recommendations on how to navigate such situations.
